I'm on Apple Crack

Yet again.

Four years ago, I was exposed to Apple for the first time and within days, purchased my very first iBook. To date, it has been the best laptop I have ever owned. Unfortunately, 3 years later, due to it's Microsoft Office unfriendliness, I had to sell it and bought a Sony Vaio instead.

I've been off 'Apple crack' for almost two years now (except for the daily iPod alarm that wakes me up with my own playlist - best alarm ever). I've been able to walk in to Apple stores and walk out with no incidents. Life has been good.

Until -

iPhone 3Gs.

For the past week, I've stayed past my bedtime, not being able to wake up for gym the next day, sweating through my sleep and fighting with my husband to convince him to let me have that freaking phone. After days of incessant crying, I finally convinced him (and the world), that I truly, absolutely, undeniably, NEED the iPhone.

I can't bear looking at my Blackberry Pearl now though - it stares at me with blank puppy eyes as I inconspicously surf the web infront of her trying to get my hands on that freaking iPhone. The one thing that has held me back is the pure evilness of AT&T, who blatantly fails in Delivering My World.

Things I failed to not do

If I hadn't gone to French classes in High School, I wouldn't have learned what falling in love meant.
If I hadn't wanted to be closer to home, I wouldn't have gone to UT-Austin.
If I hadn't been curious about my own culture, I wouldn't have joined the Taiwanese Student Association.
If I hadn't made crazy girlfriends in freshman year, I wouldn't have appreciated the company of guy friends.
If I hadn't wanted to learn mahjongg, I wouldn't have spent so much time with stinky boys.
If I hadn't spent so much time wasting time, I wouldn't have learned the value of great friendships.
If I hadn't been honest to myself, I would've regretted my decisions for the rest of my life.
If I hadn't felt extreme loneliness, I wouldn't have adopted Tom.
If I hadn't decided to go to graduate school, I would've always felt an emptiness inside.
If I hadn't decided to follow my heart, I wouldn't have made the big move.
If I hadn't believed in myself, I wouldn't be owning a house right now and working the job I love.
If I hadn't been so extremely lucky, he wouldn't have asked and I wouldn't have said Yes!

And all in all, if I hadn't learned what falling in love meant, come to UT-Austin, made some crazy friends, decided to hang out with other friends instead, had some ups and downs, agreed to go on that walk, that interview, that open house, I wouldn't have realized that all the hills and slopes that I've encountered were eventually leading me to this one exact moment in my life... and this story will be continued.

Garage Sale

Today we wrapped up our first garage sale ever.... It was the most interesting experience, specially when people started showing up at 7:30a. I don't even wake up that early to go to work on weekdays!!! I basically went around with a tote back all week gathering stuff that has been sitting in the closet as I moved from apartment to apartment and house to house... and now I've finally let go of all that stuff!

We were able to clear up two container boxes of random dolls and things that I've never wanted to get rid off but are of no particular use (i.e. jewelry). Some of the many things I found were 7 pairs of sunglasses... which were one of the first things to go. The whole sale lasted 3 hours and by 10:30 we were wrapping up. It's actually a pretty cool idea to think that people are actually paying you for things you don't want!

The one thing we could not get rid of was this huge inflatable pool that we used once and decided it was too much trouble to use again. Inflating it in the first place takes like 30 mins, and adding the water is another 30 mins. That thing can fit up to like 4 adults. Even Jeff can lie straight in it but no one wants it!!!!!

Needless to say, we took the most satisfying 2 hour nap ever in the afternoon.

It's Friday Already???

This week went by extremely fast! I'm thinking it was because I didn't have to go to a bunch of meetings this week... things just seem to never end. We're getting closer to nailing down those 2010 plans... <insert happy dance>... or well.. getting close to setting the foundation to START nailing down the 2010 plans

I think Jeff and I have inadvertently made Friday our Sushi Date night... it's like the 3rd Friday in a row that we've been to Fuyija. I love that place. And it's also the 3rd Friday in a row I end up getting the same order of Sashimi. No need to fix what's not broken!!!

I've slowly built up my addiction to the DS again.. I can't stop playing. All that wasted time when I can spend finishing up all the books I've half read, or catch up on TV (wait.. I do Hulu a lot), or reading all the magazines that I subscribe to but just sit in a corner...

Okay.. back to the DS.

2010 Planning

So another year is coming around and it's planning season again - except this time I'm doing it for the Nestle brands. I'm actually pretty excited about this one because it's taking a more 360 approach in terms of how we're coming up with themes that will lead to holistic plans. Not sure if we'll finally get to experiment with non-traditional media... clients almost always turn back to Network TV once they see the deliveries for the other vehicles... but still... keeping my hopes up that we can come across something new and different. Otherwise... planning for Network TV is still fun...

Jeff was sick last night because he ate a 6 month old beef that I told him not to eat. Although he was a little miserable the whole night, I still was able to say 'I told you so.' He's doing better today and I took him to buy some fish to replace the female fish that died in our tank last week. I think we've killed about 15 fishes already but at least they all get new names. Now there's 10 fishes in the tank - the most we've ever had but it's okay... they won't last long. At least Tom is still alive.

Anyways, we get tomorrow off in observance of Good Friday so I'm thinking it will be a really good day to just clean the house. I was looking at old pictures of my old apartment and I find it hard to remember what it was like... I don't think I could move back into an apartment - the one thing I miss was that I didn't have to worry about maintenance. Although Jeff is doing a really good job at keeping up with house stuff... I'm becoming a little more useless in terms of fixing stuff and after mowing the lawn that once, I don't think I want to do it ever again. I think Tom is a lot happier in this house too

Wow... I totally went from extremely high to happy to nostalgic to depressed all in one blog. =/
